After Careful Consideration, The Admiral at the Lake Forges a New Path Forward While Maintaining Exceptional Senior Living for Chicago-Area Seniors.
CHICAGO, Ill. — The Admiral at the Lake Board of Directors has announced the next chapter in the long history of the iconic senior living community. Over the last several years, and as part of a periodic system review process, The Admiral at the Lake has participated with The Kendal System in assessing, in good faith, the direction of the Kendal System going forward. Concurrently, The Admiral’s Board of Directors has worked through a rigorous process of self-discernment, as The Kendal Corporation was a critical partner in The Admiral’s redevelopment. After much deliberation, The Admiral’s Board of Directors has decided to end its affiliation with the Kendal System.
“The Board of Directors worked closely with expert advisors, our stakeholders, and the management team to analyze the opportunities that exist for The Admiral at the Lake under a variety of scenarios,” shares Laura McKee, Board Chair, “With this new path forward, we will continue to provide elevated senior living services to older adults of Chicago as we have for more than 160 years.”
Through this collaborative process, The Admiral’s team and The Kendal Corporation will work together to ensure a smooth transition, embracing shared values of integrity and excellence. The Admiral at the Lake team estimates this process will take place in incremental steps over the coming months. During this time, the Board of Directors will continue to explore the best ways to expand on the mission of supporting seniors and the strategic plan.
The decision to leave the Kendal System allows The Admiral at the Lake to expand its focus on major business goals, such as exploring innovative technologies and processes – and growing relationships with new partners. Additionally, the organization will explore new efficiencies within its operations and more ways to advance its strategic plan.
